Jag har frågat kompisar och bekanta om deras bästa tips. Alla har bott i Barcelona i flera år eller kommer härifrån.
Några favoriter bland många är att dricka drinkar på Wet Deck Hotel W eller Xampanierian, hänga på Bogatell stranden, äta paella på Cal Pinxo och de rekommenderar att bo i Borne om ni kommer på semester.

Best paella? I would say Ca La Nuri with a view of the beach
The best tapas bar?  El Quim de la Boqueria (La Boqueria)
The best cocktail bar? Rita Blue, Marmalade and Absinthe
Best beach: Bogatell
Best "free": Visit Tibidabo mountain and Montjuic when they make outdoor cinema.
Best club: ATLANTIDA BEACH CLUB
Best clothing store: Outlet's of Mango and Diesel, Vintage shops in  Raval
Best area to stay? El Born (Borne in Spanish)
General tips: I would say that Barcelona is a beautiful city with much to offer. But it is also a city with a lot of tourism and it is not easy to find all the little hidden secrets. It's good to know someone that can guide you.
Something to add? Avoid the restaurants with pictures of the food! Watch you bags! Get lost in Born or Raval!

Best paella in town? Seafood Paella at Salamanca in la Barceloneta

Best tapas bar?  Bar lobo off la Ramblas

Best drinks? Wet deck on a sunday afternoon at the W hotel

Best beach? if you want to be sold everything from coconuts to henna tattoos then la barceloneta. If you want the locals only experience then head to bogatel beach a 15 minute walk from there.

Best club? I like old school r&b at Jamboree

Best clothing store? a little shop that sells cheap monday jeans and some other one off's that are not mass produced in Carrer del avinyo 

Best general tips? don't come in August as it is crazy- Barcelona is great all year round and in my opinion even better out of peak summer

Best area to stay? if you like the beach- la Barceloneta. if not, the best for an authentic experience is el Borne

Something to add? Don't forget to eat too much tapas, have a siesta and really adopt the spanish culture.

Best paella in town? No doubt Cal Pinxo in Barceloneta. Best best black rice and fideua in the city. As for rice with lobster, my favorite is Can Ramonet, also in Barceloneta.
Best tapas bar? There are many good tapas bars in Barcelona. But there are two that I specially like. They are in the Rambla de Catalunya both. One is the famous Ciudad Condal, where many tourists go, but a 10 minute walk away from Ciudad Condal, we find The Bodegueta, which has a warmer atmosphere and is set in an old bar with homemade food with high quality.
Best drinks? There are so many bars but living in Barcelona and be able to have a drink on a terrace is the best experience. I vote for doing it in a hotel as Ohm, I, or W Hotel, where they play chill background music.
The best beach? To find a good beach in Barcelona, ​​you have to leave town. The city beaches are not as nice as they are full of people and the water is often dirty. In addition, many of the city beaches are artificial and the sand is real ugly. Close to Barcelona you find Castelldefels or Maresme.
Best "free"? Best free things to do, go anywhere where paying a drink you get free food, Thursdays afterwork. Also go to a beach bar where they have evening concerts.
Best club? It depends on the music you like. There is not much electronic nova days in Barcelona but good choices are Teatre principal and Under club. Sunday afternoon there is a electronic piknik (summertime) where you can enjoy good music outdoors on Montjuic.
Best clothing store? The best area to buy clothes for me is El Borne. There are many cool little shops not to compare with all the shops in the main shopping area.
The best general advice? You have to be updated on what's happening in the city. There are many things to do, many cool restaurants, the problem is that there is so much that you do not know where to go. There are some guides or applications like Yelp that can help you a lot to know what to do in the city.
Best area to stay? For me, born. Close to the beach, near the city center and major tourist spots. Another thing you want to add? Research, Barcelona is a city where if you know your way around, there are millions of different things to do.

Bästa drinkarna? hotel W

Bästa gratis? museer är gratis på söndagar! utebio på Barceloneta stranden varje måndag och torsdagskväll! 

Bästa klubb? Cafe Royale, bra live spelningar varje dag, speciellt söndagar då de spelar brasiliansk musik. 

Bästa klädbutik? Zara och marknaden Encants.

Bästa generella tips? Var försiktig med dina saker, här i Barcelona finns det gott om ficktjuvar. Gå hellre vilse på alla smågator i Born och Gotico än spendera tid på la rambla.

Bästa området för att bo? El born

Något att tillägga? hyr gärna en cykel under din vistelse. La paradeta, fisk och skaldjurs restaurang. Lunch på Oviso.

Best "for free"? Magic Fountain, Hospital de Sant Pau; MNAC Museum; Born Cultural Centre; Picasso Museum etc
Best club? Carpe Diem Lounge Club
Best clothing store? Bershka
Best general tips? Stay away from the touristy places, watch your bag all the time and enjoy the late evening terraces in the summer.
Best area to stay? Borne
